The Olympic Golf Tournament will begin on July 30th and run through August 2nd. The four rounds of competition will be held at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Course in Brazil. This course was designed by Gil Hanse and features 18 holes set against a stunning coastal backdrop. It promises to be a great venue for some exciting golfing action!
Who Will Be Competing?
There are 60 players from 30 different countries who have qualified to compete in the tournament, with half of them being male and half female. Each country can send up to four players, although only two can be men or women if they wish. Some of the top names competing include Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Inbee Park, Lydia Ko and Justin Rose – so there are sure to be some exciting matches!
How Does the Competition Work?
The competition will work like any other standard golf tournament; each player will play 18 holes over four days, with their total score at the end determining their placement in the rankings.
